Itinerary
Day 1 – Fes to Erg Chebbi Dunes
Begin your journey with an early departure from Fes, travelling through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains. Pass the charming town of Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, where Barbary monkeys can often be seen. Continue to Midelt for lunch before driving through the spectacular Ziz Gorges, one of Morocco’s most breathtaking oasis landscapes.
Arrive in Merzouga during the late afternoon, where your adventure into the Sahara begins. Transfer your overnight essentials to a camel or a 4×4 and journey across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes as the sun sets over the desert. Spend the evening in a traditional desert camp, enjoying a delicious tagine dinner, live Gnawa drum music around the campfire, and an unforgettable night beneath the stars.
Day 2 – Erg Chebbi Dunes to Fes
Wake before sunrise to witness one of the Sahara’s most unforgettable moments as the first light illuminates the golden dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel before beginning your scenic drive back to Fes. Retrace your route through the Ziz Valley, Midelt, and the Middle Atlas Mountains, arriving in Fes in the early evening with unforgettable memories of your desert adventure.
